Question:

$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/ec2-api-
tools-1.3-36506/bin

and in fact:

$ ls /usr/local/ec2-api-tools-1.3-36506/bin/ec2-bundle-image
ls: cannot access /usr/local/ec2-api-tools-1.3-36506/bin/ec2-bundle-
image: No such file or directory

Any clues where I might find a copy of this utility?

Any help appreciated.

That's a never mind.  Issue resolved.  Apparently there is both a set
of API tools as well as AMI tools.

Perhaps this might serve to steer someone in the appropriate
